Hillwoods Academy organizes Eco-Seminar every year to create awareness about the significance of a healthy environment and to encourage individual accountability for environment protection. It is a platform where we come together to prove that we all share common beliefs of “Sustainable Development”.
With the aim to inspire the young generation to participate for the cause of saving our planet, the Eco-Seminar was organized on August 22, 2022. Prestigious schools of NCR and Delhi; namely, DLF World School; Holy Public School; Grads International School; Gyan Anant Vidyalaya, Atrouli; and Hillwoods Academy, Delhi participated in the various competitions which were held to stimulate and inspire the young minds. The students showcased their creativity and innovative ideas inThe Voice ofBrains; a Discussion and Crafts Paradise; a Creative Activity for making Best out of Waste.
The event was graced by Mr. RamveerTanwar- The Pond man of India,as the Chief Guest. The other Guests of Honourwere Mr. Om Raizada, a Poet, Writer , Thinker and an Environmentalist; and Ms. Pooja Luthra, an artist who invests her time keenly on making Best out of Waste and Ms. Kirti Mishra Narang, a beauty pageant , Life coach and a Personality Development Expert. The Chief Guest in his address urged the students to be the pioneer and be an active supporter in the cause of reviving the dead ponds around the vicinity and to plant more and more trees to save the environment . He was also pleased to announce that the forest cover has increased considerably in Greater Noida in the recent times.
The seminar commenced with the auspicious Lamp lighting along with the rendition of Saraswati Vandana.The choir group welcomed all the dignitaries and invited guests with an impressive melodious song.
The yearly newsletter ‘Green Pages’ was released by the respected chief guest. All the students and guests pledged loyalty to the environment. An inspiringsession on the revival of the dead ponds and forest area in the surroundings was undertaken by Mr. RamveerTanwar, an engineer by qualificationwhohas contributed to restore and rejuvenate more than 40 ponds and lakes all over India.He shared very vital information’s about the importance of ponds and their contribution in the ecosystem. He urged each and every citizen to be the volunteer and spread awareness through latest media. The Guest of HonourMr.Raizada in his unique lively style invoked all the children to abide by their duties to protect the mother nature.
As a step towards environmental cognizanceand keeping up to the promise for ‘greener environment’, saplings were planted by the distinguished guests. The winners of the competitions were felicitated by the respected judges and guests.
The program was concluded with the Vote of Thanks and with the hope to gather again with more innovative and significant ideas towards the protection of environment.
